Sorry guys, I know that I am meant to post regularly and I didn’t so much forget as get lazy :).
But as with just about every other blog for the past 2 days I am turning my attention towards New Years Resolutions and my ambitions for this year. After all what is the use of a new start without new goals? Although I am determined to be one of the 8% of people who actually follow through on their goals. One of the things I have learned from past years is that goal setting is all very well and good but unless you have a framework in place to track your progress, motivate you and sustain your efforts you are unlikely to succeed.
My first goal is probably to keep posting here more regularly, I would like to work on 3 posts per week consistently more on special occasions. To that end I have added time to my calendar Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to blog. I know that those times are already allocated to getting my writing done. Hopefully my reward will be more subscribers.
I want to continue to share my fitness and lifestyle stuff here. I am passionate about losing weight, it would be nice to weigh less than The Man one of these days. To that end one of my posts is of course going to be about my progress in that area. To help motivate me this month I have purchased a shiny iPod shuffle which I will only be getting my hot little hands on once I have completed a month of working out 5 times a week. So I will let you know at the end of January if I have received my gift. If not then I will have to work for it again in February. To track it I have set up a spreadsheet which goes through my weightlifting progress, my measurements and any progress I make there as well as a cross off sheet so that I can physically cross off each weight as I reach it.
I want to do well in my study. I have STILL not started yet but will be commencing study in the next month or so to say I am excited would be an understatement. I am beyond thrilled. But I am realistic about the amount of work involved in keeping my grades where I want them to be. I am tracking my overall goals again by way of a spreadsheet which lets me know how I am tracking for honours (you have to have a minimum score on your previous 3 years of study to reach honours) My reward for this will be the grades themselves but I am sure I will be able to come up with another reward as time goes on.
I want to keep my house nice. I am tired of living in a hovel. Which means maintaining it day to day and not spot cleaning and doing a dash and stash when company is due. Which is where housework wednesdays will come in. Mind you I am considering limiting those to purely a picture posting rather than an actual full post. After all a picture is worth a thousand words right? But my way of motivation will be the posting because I HATE sharing yucky house pics. They are horrible and humiliating. However sharing nice pictures of my house is something I love so both carrot and stick in one.
So what are your goals for 2015? What sort of support system are you putting in place to ensure you reach them? How are you tracking your progress?
